My top 10 purchases in 2025

It’s the annual reveal of my favourite purchases for the year.

I only (usually) buy what I need and what I know I can wear over and over, mixing and matching with what I already own. Sometimes I jump on trends, but I usually stick to classic pieces.

So here it is, a quick rundown of why I chose to buy what I did this year and some tips that might help you when you hit the shops or add to cart.

Denim cropped shirt

It’s something I’ll wear over and over with linen pants, shorts and skirts and if you are a double denim person, then you can do that too. I like the cropped style because it elongates my short torso.

Cropped bomber jacket

I love the suede feel of this and chocolate brown was on trend, but it’s a colour that suits my skin tone so I’ll wear it on repeat. Sitting just over the top of jeans, skirts etc if gives the illusion of a longer torso and works with neutral tones and black.

Merlot handbag

This was the colour of Autumn and Winter and as someone who doesn’t wear much colour, when I do, I add it via accessories like handbags. I love the shape of this one and didn’t spend too much on it, being a trend piece, but I will wear it even when the merlot colour trend is long gone.

Chocolate brown faux leather jacket

An unexpected find while shopping in Target for my kids. I saw it and knew I needed it. It’s such a great fit and length, soft, not too shiny and I love it with jeans, skirts and over dresses. Such a great buy.

Denim mini dress

The brass buttons give it a subtle detail and it’s a nice shape, coming in at the waist. I did have to get it taken up at the shoulders because of my short torso, but I knew tailoring was worth it, because it’s a dress I can keep for years.

Matching suit

A trend I jumped on but I tried on so many until I found the right one. I have worn this as a set and separate - giving me more outfit options. The pants are great for work with a shirt or blazer and the waistcoat looks cute with jeans or a mini skirt.

Lace floral skirt

I am obsessed with lace so when I saw this, I added to cart immediately. It’s so feminine and such a great fit with a little flare around the hips and hem.

Black ball gown

I wanted to make a statement when I attended a ball and this dress did the trick. It gave edgy princess vibes and I will wear it again. I dressed it up with sparkly shoes and you can go bigger than me with the earrings. I’ll probably do that next time.

Blazer dress

A classic, classy dress I knew I’d wear over and over when I saw it. The fit of this is perfect for my shape and you can also add some sheer black stockings and black heels or boots for a different look. Throw on some faux fur or a trench for an added layer when it’s cold and it’s the perfect Winter event dress.

Oversized vegan leather jacket

It was a treat to myself this year and something I had been thinking about for weeks before I bought it. It’s big and baggy and sensational, but be careful about proportions when styling it. I’d wear it with a straight leg pair of jeans rather than anything too wide, a mini skirt and over a dress. Anything too baggy on the bottom would swallow me up. I’d also go for a more fitted top.

So there you have it. My favourite purchases of 2025.
